UNICORN CENTRE RIDERS TRIUMPH IN NATIONAL COMPETITION
Disabled riders from the Unicorn Centre RDA group in Hemlington, Middlesbrough have returned triumphant from the RDA National Championships in Gloucestershire. Having qualified at regional events earlier in the year, the riders, volunteers and ponies were able to compete having received a travel grant thanks to players of People’s Postcode Lottery and generous local donations.
The draw for our Grand Summer Raffle, kindly match funded by Barclays, was made at our BBQ and End of Term Awards evening on 1 July 2016.

NEW TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES AT DISABLED RIDING CENTRE
The Riding for the Disabled Association’s Unicorn Centre based at Hemlington, near Middlesbrough is offering a small number of additional free training places for learners aged 19 years and over for next term.
The Centre has been partnering with Middlesbrough College for eighteen years to deliver work-based courses in Horse Care and Management. Next term it is able to offer fully-funded places on the full-time Level 1 & 2 Diploma in Work Based Horse Care programmes for 16 -18 year olds as before, but also with a small number of extra places for older learners.
RECORD NUMBER OF RIDERS QUALIFY FOR CHAMPS
A record number of twenty riders at the Riding for the Disabled Association’s Unicorn Centre at Hemlington near Middlesbrough are celebrating after qualifying to compete at the RDA National Championships this summer.
They’ll all be competing in showjumping, dressage or the Countryside Challenge at the RDA National Championships in Hartpury, Gloucestershire on 15-17 July.
DISABLED RIDING CENTRE’S SADDLE & HAY APPEALS
THE Riding for the Disabled Association’s Unicorn Centre, based at Hemlington near Middlesbrough, is embarking on an ambitious fund raising campaign in 2016.
Although many charities are finding it tough to survive, the Unicorn Centre, which is self-funding, is determined to ensure that the past eighteen years of providing riding and therapy to children and adults in the Tees Valley is celebrated and continues for many years to come.
