VOLUNTEER YOURSELF TO FITNESS
Researchers at Cambridge University have recently concluded that getting everyone to do at least 20 minutes of brisk walking a day would have substantial benefits to their health.
Staff at the Riding for the Disabled Association’s Unicorn Centre, at Hemlington near Middlesbrough believe volunteering could be a great way for local people to achieve this.
The Centre is looking for active people who could spare one hour a week to help disabled young people do something they really love – horse riding.
We have some amazing volunteers here at the Centre who help with the riding lessons and on the yard. Now we're looking for some more amazing people to help us assist at our weekend and evening competitions either writing for the dressage judge, scoring or doing the doors? Or if you don't fancy doing that, how about helping with catering - bacon butties, soup, sandwiches etc. The competitions are so important: they give our riders a chance to compete and also raise valuable funds for the Centre. Give me a call if you could help - it would make such a difference. Many thanks, Emily. 01642 576222.
