SAYING GOODBYE TO GRENADIER AND IZZY
We‘ve had a sad time here at the Unicorn Centre when we lost two of our beloved horses, Izzy and Grenadier last month.
NAME THAT HORSE!
Get your thinking caps on everyone – we need you to think of a special name for a very special horse!
The Centre will be 21 this year, so we’re embarking on a very special project to commemorate this amazing milestone. We are raising funds to buy a black horse with a big difference: he (or she) will be a computer-aided Dressage Simulator mechanical horse.
WATER PUMP AND DRIVE - APPEAL FOR FUNDING
You know that feeling when you reach a certain age and bits start to fall off? It seems that reaching 21 is having that effect on us too. We’ve just been told that our 21 year old water pressure pump in the yard is no longer repairable and a new one will cost us a whopping £3500! Plus our drive is getting full of potholes so we’re attempting to patch it up ourselves with Postcrete. Is there anyone out there who could help us with the pump or supply us with some bags of Postcrete? It would make our day!
We've set up a fundraising page on BTMyDonate.http://mydonate.bt.com/events/pumpanddrive/481064 If you could help with a little donation, it would be enormously helpful. Thank you very much.
CELEBRATION OF ACHIEVEMENT AT DISABLED RIDING CENTRE
An evening of exciting riding displays and an Adopt a Pony party closed 2018 at the Riding for the Disabled Association’s Unicorn Centre as it celebrated the achievements of all its participants.
Riders, diploma learners, Supported Volunteers and the Centre’s own Pony Club gave polished Christmas-themed musical riding displays in front of an enthralled audience of families and friends and proud staff members.
CHRISTMAS END OF TERM DISPLAY AND ADOPT A PONY PARTY - 2018
Our Diploma Learners, Supported Volunteers and Pony Club did us proud with their excellent displays of riding and leading at yesterday's End of Term Display evening.
And our Adopt a Pony "parents" enjoyed a scrummy tea party and met their ponies afterwards.
Huge thanks to everyone taking part in the display and to those involved in making this evening such a success.
The list of unclaimed Christmas Raffle winners is here - please call the Centre to claim your prize.
