Recent visitors to the Unicorn Centre will have noticed the new gate and fencing at the entrance to our car park.
This, along with an enhanced CCTV system, has been installed following police advice in order to enhance our existing security measures.

UNICORN CENTRE RIDERS TRIUMPH AGAIN

Disabled riders from the Unicorn Centre RDA group in Hemlington, Middlesbrough have just returned triumphant from the RDA National Championships in Gloucestershire.
Having qualified at regional events earlier in the year, the riders, volunteers and ponies were able to compete having received a travel grant thanks to generous donations following a local appeal spearheaded by the Centre’s youngest qualifier, six year old Annie Waterson.
YOUNGEST RIDER EVER QUALIFIES FOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

TWELVE riders at the Riding for the Disabled Association’s Unicorn Centre at Hemlington near Middlesbrough including six year old Annie, are celebrating after qualifying to compete at the RDA National Championships this summer.
They’ll all be competing in showjumping, dressage or the Countryside Challenge at the RDA National Championships in Hartpury, Gloucestershire on 14-16 July.

Local disabled riding charity says THANK YOU to players
Residents in line to share £3m win with People’s Postcode Lottery
Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA), a UK charity supported by players of People’s Postcode Lottery, is wishing ‘Good luck’ to residents in Billingham as the Millions draw lands in their postcode. Volunteers from RDA group The Unicorn Centre, based at Hemlington, will be at the Millions event to thank players in person and share in their celebrations. The group supports over 300 disabled children and adults from the Tees Valley area.
“We would like to say a massive thank you to players of People’s Postcode Lottery in Billingham for supporting RDA,” said Sal Atkinson of RDA UK. “We rely on voluntary donations to enable us to provide riding and carriage driving to our disabled participants and the continued support of players has made a huge difference. Good luck for the draw on Saturday!”
The Millions event takes place on Saturday 3 June at The Grand Marquee, Wynyard Hall, Stockton-on-Tees, Billingham TS22 5NF.
