Fred was a very versatile horse who worked in a variety of lessons throughout his 15 years at the Centre, from RDA lead rein to level 2 jumping lessons. He was always so enthusiastic and had the most gentle personality. Fred loved working, and was well known for being quite excitable when it came to cantering and especially jumping. He was utterly reliable and steady on the lead rein but could transform into a different horse if he saw even a pole on the ground in the arena with an experienced rider on board. He enthusiastically helped many of our Level 2 Diploma learners over the years to achieve their jumping assessments!
Fred was a true gentleman through and through, with impeccable manners in the stable and a very lovely personality. We are privileged to have had Fred on permanent loan for all this time and are very grateful to his owner; he gave pleasure and confidence to so many at the Centre.
Fred was much loved and we know he will be sadly missed by all staff, participants, learners, volunteers and supported volunteers alike. RIP Fred.
