PRESS RELEASE: MEET A UNICORN AT THE RDA RIDING CENTRE
The Riding for the Disabled Association Unicorn Centre’s hugely popular Unicorn Day is being held at its Hemlington base on Sunday 7 July.
Visitors are invited to come along to look around the Centre, meet lots of Unicorns, and take part in Unicorn-themed activities and fundraising events. Children will be able to ride a “Unicorn” pony in a magical indoor woodland glade, and meet baby ‘Unicorns’. There will be craft stalls, Unicorn activities, raffle, tombola, bottle stall and refreshments on offer.
Chair of Trustees Jackie Rubin explained, “Unicorns are so popular with children, and we will have plenty around the Centre to meet and ride.
She continued, “As many people know, we are trying to raise £100,000 to secure the Centre’s future, as we struggle with the impact of the cost-of-living crisis. We’re hoping that this event will help to swell the coffers a little bit more and help our fundraising campaign.”
Unicorn Day will be running from 10am to 3pm, and entry is free. Unicorn pony rides for children 5 years and over will be £10 each and must be pre-booked. There will also be a baby ‘Unicorn’ for children to meet at £5 each.
Donations of bottles for the bottle stall, and raffle and tombola prizes would be welcome, please drop into the Centre in advance.
The Unicorn Centre is based at Stainton Way, Hemlington accessed along the drive adjacent to the Cleveland Police Community Safety Hub.
