The 5k Riverside Run and NHS South Tees CCG 2k Run will take place on Sunday June 1st 2014. Starting and finishing at Middlesbrough FC's Riverside Stadium, the route takes runners past some of the town’s most iconic land marks including the Transporter Bridge, Middlesbrough College, St Hilda's Clock and Temenos.
 
Unicorn Centre manager Mrs Claire Pitt said, “We’re delighted to be one of the charities to benefit from this popular event. All we need is ten people to run the 5k and raise their sponsorship money for the Centre. We’ll use the money to help deliver riding lessons to the 200 disabled children and adults who ride with us each week.”
 
If you would like a free place, contact the the Unicorn Centre on 01642 576222 for more details. The Centre is also looking for volunteers to help man its fundraising stall on the day and to help give out bottles of water to the runners.

The Unicorn Centre provides riding lessons and therapy for children and adults from 5 years old, both disabled and able-bodied. The Centre's horses and ponies are carefully chosen for their temperament, size and ability to work with disabled riders, and a hoist facility for mounting onto ponies is available for wheelchair users... read more
