We've launched our new interactive website www.rdaunicorncentre.co.uk thanks to a Tees Million grant from the Tees Foundation.
The Tees Million's mission is to provide £1 million of accessible funding for the community of Teesside, every year. The fundamental aim is to get the money directly to those who are making a difference, wherever and whenever it is needed.
The new website gives users the opportunity to find out about and contact the Unicorn Centre about the large range of equine and volunteering activities offered by the charity. It also offers people the chance to Adopt a Pony, make donations, book events and buy Gift Certificates through its bespoke ecommerce facility.
Chair of Trustees Jackie Rubin said, “Our previous website was over 20 years old, and was no longer fit for purpose in this digital age. Thanks to the generosity of the Tees Foundation, and the skills of our web development team at TSM Media, we’ve now got a wonderful website which is up-to-date, accessible and mobile friendly. We hope it will encourage more engagement with the wider community by promoting our services.”
The Centre has been embarking on a year-long appeal to raise £100,000 to secure its future, and the target has now reached over half way. Like other self-funding RDA groups nationally, the financial situation has hit it hard, with rising staff and utility costs. The appeal has helped to raise its profile in the community with the public and with grant-funding organisations, but there is still a long way to go and it is hoped that the new website will be another tool to create more engagement. https://www.justgiving.com/page/rdaunicorncentre-future
