Unicorn Day - Sunday 13 July 2025

The Riding for the Disabled Association Unicorn Centre’s hugely popular Unicorn Day is being held at its Hemlington base on Sunday 13 July.

Visitors are invited to come along to look around the Centre, meet lots of Unicorns, and take part in Unicorn-themed activities and fundraising events. Children will be able to ride a “Unicorn” pony in a magical indoor woodland glade.  Blackberry, the mechanical horse will be offering rides, and a hobby horse fastest round competition will be running in the outdoor arena all day. There will be craft stalls, Unicorn activities, raffle, tombola, bottle stall and refreshments on offer.

Chair of Trustees Jackie Rubin explained, “Unicorns are so popular with children, and we will have plenty around the Centre to meet and ride.

She continued, “Running a riding centre as large as ours is a massive financial undertaking and events like this play a huge part.  We hope lots of people will come along to find out more about what we do, and support our fundraising.”

Unicorn Day will be running from 10am to 3pm, and entry is free.  Unicorn pony rides for children 5 – 12 years are £12 each and must be pre-booked.

Donations of bottles, raffle and tombola prizes would be welcome; please drop into the Centre in advance.
