PRESS RELEASE
DOG SHOW FOR DISABLED RIDING CENTRE
The Riding for the Disabled Association’s Unicorn Centre is holding its popular annual Family Fun Dog Show on Sunday 24 September at Stainton Way, Hemlington.
Classes will be open to all dogs (and their owners) and will include sporting and non sporting, dog who sits the longest, child handler, best ball or biscuit catcher, best rescue and waggiest tail.
This year, the Show is kindly sponsored by Foresters Financial who is providing rosettes and prizes.
Trustee Joan Northend said, “Who doesn’t think that their dog is the best in the world? It will be a great chance for dog lovers to meet, show off their dogs, and raise funds for the Unicorn Centre too. It’s going to be a great day!”
She continued, “The funds raised will be used to help the Centre continue its activities by contributing to the running costs. The Centre is self-funded, so we need to raise over £150,000 a year to keep going, which is quite a tall order!”
Entries at £2 per class or £5 for three per dog, will be taken on the day from 11.00am and judging starts at 12 noon. The event will take place outdoors, but will be moved indoors if the weather is poor. There is ample free parking, and there will be stalls and refreshments.
