UNICORN RIDERS HEAD FOR CHAMPIONSHIPS – BUT NEED FUNDING SUPPORT

TEN riders from the Riding for the Disabled Association's Unicorn Centre at Hemlington, Middlesbrough have qualified for the Dressage and Countryside Challenge finals at the RDA National Championships at Hartpury College, Gloucester on 14/15 July – but won’t be able to go without further financial support.

DISABLED young persons can try a new activity during the Easter holidays – horse riding and horse care, thanks to a grant from Middlesbrough Council.

LACK OF WINTER FREEZE CHEERS LOCAL CHARITY

FINGERS and hooves have been crossed all this winter at a local disabled riding centre that last winter’s big freeze wouldn’t return this year, and with spring just around the corner, luck seems to be on their side.

The Riding for the Disabled Association’s Unicorn Centre at Hemlington, Middlesbrough has been closely watching the weather reports all winter hoping that freezing temperatures will stay away after the disaster that befell them last winter.

Riding Lessons & Services

The Unicorn Centre provides riding lessons and therapy for children and adults from 5 years old, both disabled and able-bodied. The Centre's horses and ponies are carefully chosen for their temperament, size and ability to work with disabled riders, and a hoist facility for mounting onto ponies is available for wheelchair users... read more
